So I got the integrated Bluetooth on my e1705, but honestly I'm not really sure what I'll be using it for.
I bought an Axim PDA about a year and a half ago, but didnt get the Bluetooth version - ****. My printer is a little old (but still fine) and is not Bluetooth.
I'll probably be getting a wireless keyboard and mouse, so that may be an option.
Anything else I should think about?
-
Bluetooth would be ideal for transfering files between devices. (PDA's, Phones, etc.)
Headphones are another thing if you are in mind of something -
If you aren't sure of if you'll use bluetooth, then chances are you won't.
Most users us it for mouse, cellphone or PDA, but if you don't have any of those or don't plan on using those, then you don't need it.
BT just elminates the need for cords. -
Thanks everyone. I'm thinking of getting a new phone, so I'll look for bluetooth so i can synch up my contacts, etc.
-
Good idea,
bluetooth makes it very easy and free to transfer things from your phone to your camera. Even if you get a camera phone, you can transfer your pics to the laptop.
If you want more info on Bluetooth, you can check out my giude in the newtorking forum. And i believe it is section 5. (Or click "Nickspohns Wireless Giude" in my sig) -
Metamorphical Good computer user
I got blue tooth and I don't use it for anything. I don't think I've ever turned the radio in. Nextel doesn't even make a bluetooth phone to my knowledge,

mouse for me

Logitech MX900 Mouse, Motorola Razr, Palm T3, Jabra 350 Headset, HP 460cb Printer (with battery), and one of these days I will find a BT numeric keypad.

Can you tell me where can I buy dell bluetooth module for I9400?
I've ordered this laptop without bluetooth. -
Maybe you can buy the module second hand from someone above who is not using it? -
Yes, you can buy the bluetooth. Call Dell's Parts Department about it.
-
OK thanks. Im going to look for it on ebay.
So there is not any pssible to buy new part online? -
You might try to find it at another online vendor like newegg.com or something, but if you want it from dell, you'll have to call them.

Doesn't mention E1705/9400, but the 9300 is shown as compatible.
Edit: I noticed it's the same model used in the E1705 on Dell's website; 350.

i love the bluetooth. i have started using mine on my laptop at work to connect to the internet through my cell phone. i would not recomend using it to do windows update on a new XP install (it was fun to watch once but never again) but all in all it is nice to be able to connect to the internet during lunch driving down the highway at 75 mph (a coworker was driving).

had a bluetooth cable for $12. Is this cable required? Also, are the installation instructions same as the I9300 posted on the website?
Thanks. -
