So I own a 1520. I have own it for 9 months now and I am thinking that I should finally get the loose battery fixed (I don't want to do a temp-tape fix). Also, i hate that my screens wobbles so much when i shake the base at time.

The main question is that I did upgrade my ram from 1gb to 2gb. Should i replace the old ram before I call and ask them to fix my issues? Is it necessary?

Also how does dell usually fix wobbly screens? Tightening hinges or new hinges? Lastly, how does dell fix the loose battery issue?

    Thanks everyone!

Definatley replace the old ram, as they may get pissy and echange it for their stock ram. They may upgrade/etc. your system and you would hate to loose it. Also, make sure to do a complete backup, either image or data backup, as they may format your hdd for the hell of it. I am fairly sure they will look into any issues you have, and charge you for what they will not do. I would think that the battery issue is covered, but a loose hinge would not be, but dell may accommodate.
