    Hello
I am aware the subject of the DELL OUTLET SITE has had many threads but i want to ask a quicky ?

I am looking to buy my daughter her 1st Notebook.
My limited funds mean i only want to spend around £350.
The Dell outlet looks good value.

Does the general outcome of the DELL OUTLET Visit result in happy days all round ??
As it's for my young daughter , are there any issues i should be concerned with , reguarding content , as they are previously owned ?
What kind of warranty comes with the Laptops also please.

    Thanks.

Most people report that their computers come looking brand new and working as good as new.

They also come with a 1 year in home warranty standard

If you're wondering if the previous owners content will be on the drive (such as porn) then you can sleep safe. This is illegal for them to resell a drive without removing all the previous owners information and reinstalling everything fresh.

I ordered a laptop from the outlet and it came exactly as new all newly packaged, clean install and all the extras. Pity about the grainy screen though.

    Mine was brand new.

But to add to the discussion, my next laptop will be from the dell outlet ... If it's cheaper there then buying a new laptop I'm all for it

One of my previous computers the 700m, was from Dell Outlet. Not a single scratch and still working great after 2 years. :)

My current M1330 is also from Dell Outlet. The computer came in perfect condition except for few marks (not really scratches) on the LCD Display back cover. Since the price I paid was very cheap ($1249 including tax) compared to a brand new, I decided to order the replacement cover. Called Dell and they said, that part wasn't available for sale but would send someone to replace it for FREE.

The Dell Technician came two days later to replace the cover and now my computer looks like new. :)

And I was very lucky to get the LG Display. :D :D :D

Is refurbished once available only at Dell outlets or can we order then by phone...In India Dell doesn't have any outlets....

If I search outlets in Dell India, it takes me to the Australia site. I once mailed Dell to get me tickets to Australia :)

I brought two laptops and two desktops from the outlet store and couldn't be any happier with them. They came in excellent condition, you could even argue that they were new if it weren't for the refurb tag on them. You can save a good amount of money if you are patient.

I orderd the lappy in my sig through the Outlet. Flawless (except for the Samsung screen but that's been replaced!). Checked the date on the file folders in Windows to see the date they were created and they were created three days before I received my laptop. Proves to me I had a fresh install. All I had to do was remove all the Dell Spam I didn't want and disable a few start up items and I'm good to go.

I think you need to take a good hard look at "only want to spend around £350"

Seriously other than documents and some spreadsheets, and the occasional flirting w/ her boyfriend via IM / Internet... you could easily save yourself a heck of a lot if you got a last gen lappy off ebay or whatever classified ads you have over in the land of fish and chips.

    I say get her a Inspiron 6000 (15.4ws)and call it a day :)

It's not a case of only wanting to spend £350. It's all i can afford at present.

    Thanks anyway guys.
With this info i will look into Dell Outlet for sure.
