I shall set the scene...I have an M1530 and it broke. Dell sent someone round next day to replace the motherboard but it still didn't work. They are sending me a new one but I have to take the data of the old hard drive to transfer it to the new one. I know nothing about laptops and components etc and so; the laptop has a 160GB 7200RPM hard drive. I'm looking for a usb enclosure thing a la: http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ModuleNo=221180&doy=20m2#overview

so the stupid question is: Is the hard drive 2.5 inch? are all laptop HDs 2.5 inch?

Will the thing I've linked to work ok for transferring the data (bearing in mind there's not power to the laptop, and is there anything better/cheaper anyone can suggest.
