So if you need to return it because of a defect, Dell pays for your pick up shipping, correct? And what kind of shipping speed do they use?
-
Dell always pays for shipping. I think they just use regular shipping.
-
They use DHL, if you own an XPS then they do overnight shipping as well.

All my Dell stuff (ie: service parts) have come through either Purolator Courier (in Canada), or UPS.
Dell is a customer of UPS Global Logistics, which is actually their outsourced provider for laptop repairs.
And yeah (at least on my Latitude), they take care of *everything*, including sending you packaging and shipping labels to return the defective parts. -
In the States is with DHL and that is on the next business days, not overnight, if an order is placed after 5 PM the order will be shipped on the next business day, for example, if i ask for a replacement on Friday at 8 pm the next business day would be Monday, that is the day they ship the part, and you will get the part on Tuesday. Another example, if i order a replacement on Wednesday at 3 PM i will get the part on Thursday.

Just sent mine yesterday...I guess the standard 1yr warranty doesn't have in home...oh well I would rather not watch anyway!!!LOL!! just hope the put it to sleep first !!!!they sent an empty box with the foam padding...a shipping sticker and then that's it ... flying by the seat of my pants again I guess...I had them pick it up from my work rather than drive all the way to the other end of town...turnaround time they say is 7-14 days...we shall see...I only hope that they send it to my work when it is returned because all this driving back and forth is a pain...

Dell uses the quickest shipping possible when they ship your laptop to you. When you send back, they generate a 2 day shipping label. This applies to USA.

Cool..hope us Canadians are afforded the same luxury...it is sent out to Ontario...so I can only figure at least a week or longer ...
