I have some Dell bucks so I'm considering a QuickSnap cover for my new E1505 but have some questions:

    1. I assume the QuickSnap cover for the Inspiron 6000 will fit my E1505?

    2. Do people think the Cherrywood, Carbon Fiber or the Charcoal Leather look the best in general? How about with the white bumpers?

    3. Do you think these covers are mainly for looks or for protecting your cover.

    4. The price notwithstanding are they worth it?

    1.) Yes
    2.) Personal preference
3.) I don't find them attractive, so to me they are for protection.
    4.) again, personal preference

The one frozen sun has looks like the carbon fiber quicksnap. Personally I like the leather one, it sorta makes your laptop look like a bigger xps m1210.

I have the carbon fiber quicksnap. Sadly's it's not real carbon fiber, but I think it makes the notebook a lot less bland looking, and it's preety sturdy plastic, so it is mean for protection as well. IMHO it was worth it.

Yes you get them from Dell and they are a little pricey I believe they are $45 now but were $10 higher a week ago. I think I've kind of narrowed it down to the Carbon Fiber and the Cherrywood.

JollyGreenGiant do you think your Carbon Fiber blends in against the white and grey of your laptop or can you kind of tell it was an add-on?

Does anyone have the Cherrywood and could comment?

To me it blends pretty well since all the colors are either black or white or in between.

I have the carbon fiber quick snap on my E1505 and I think it looks pretty good. I also have a Dell 640m and the top of it is pretty scratched up. I am very careful, but the material just isn't scratch resistant. I got a different laptop bag for my E1505 with a seperate pocket for the laptop. I think that might have helped.

My 640m bag has pockets to hold gear right above the laptop, so that might have scratched it. I would definitely suggest one! I wish they made one for the 14" screens!

The carbon fibre cover is a real treat for the eye..the black base and the white lines are so distinct even at distance.. it has made me proud of my system, more than once.. :)

I have the Ocean Blue quicksnap for a Inspiron 6400. I began having a problem with the screen's frame near the right hinge after 8 months and I suspect my quicksnap of having put too much strain on the screen cover so I stopped using it. Dell won't repair caus they argue it'S merely an "esthetic" issue and thus is not covered by the base warranty.

This couldn't have happened from the quicksnap. They weight a whole 2 ounces and just clip to the top, their is no strain on the hinges because of these things.. I've been using my quicksnap for a year with zero hing problems.

They clip to the bottom as well, but I agree, it doesn't exert enough pressure to cause any hinge problems. Plus, nothing on the quicksnap touches the hinge at all.
