I have a dell xps 1645 and I just reinstalled because I added a ssd and 8gb of ram. Seems that when no matter what version of quickset I try to install they all will not install and I just get this is a not a supported system.

Seems like the problem is having 8gb of ram or ram that not from dell as this guy fixed it by putting in his 2gb sticks. The problem is I sold my dell memory so this is all I have. Anybody find any other solution it would be great.

Did you try the msconfig method in that thread?

I think either that, or you could try remove a stick of RAM.
