My brother has just got a Studio 1555 with ATI Radeon HD 4570 graphics but he's having problems with Dell Quickset conflicting with Windows Vista Aero. Remove Quickset then he can select Aero, with it installed and running the display reverts to Vista Basic settings.

Anyone seen this before and is there a fix, apart from the obvious of unistalling quickset?

Update: It only seems to do this when on battery power.

No need to panic, I've now solved it. Within the Battery Meter window the Dell Extended Battery Life setting was enabled. This has the effect of turing off Windows Aero, Windows sidebar etc when on battery power.
