So ordered a dell Studio 15 about 2 weeks ago today, EDD was about my birthday, not exactly but I was pleased. So if you live on colorado you know we got a Blizzard on Thursday and Friday shutting down school and most buisness, 1 day was by birthday, the other the Friday before Spring Break. Yay early spring break, ok Dell has had about 8 days to process my order and get to the shipper. Knowing they don't ship during the weekends I anxiously await Monday, look at the window and lookie there snow..., 3 inches to be more exact.
That is the thrid workday in a row it has snowed inevitably delaying the delivery of my laptop, I've been trying to be patient watching unboxings, reading dozens upon dozens of reviews, my patience is growing thin if they are not working today then that is 5 non-workdays for whoever the shipper is, and it should be here tommrow, but today has told me to expect the worst and not expect it to next week sometime, during school, when I don't have the unlimited amount of time afforded by Spring Break to do all I want with it.
Just felt like ranting, for people who have the studio 15 what are some problems you have noticed, despite them I expect it to be a step up from a eMachines W3107.(look it up)

The most widespread issue: the touch-sensitive media panel. Sometimes, when you boot the Studio 15 up, the touch-sensitive eject button gets stuck and attempts to eject a disk for about 10 minutes, during which none of the other touch-buttons will respond. After that, however, it works perfectly normal. Not a crippling problem, just a minor annoyance. There's a pretty easy workaround, though. When the notebook is off, take out the battery, open the notebook and press the power button like you would normally turn it on, and hold it for 10 seconds. Then put the battery back in or plug in the power, and start up. It will work just fine. I make a habit of doing this every time I shut down.
Another common complaint is the speakers. They're not the best quality, even among notebook speakers, and their maximum volume is not loud at all. Luckily, that's primarily because of the IDT audio drivers Dell includes. If you uninstall these, reboot, and let Vista install its own HD audio driver, the sound is much louder and clearer, instantly.
There are also a few people who think the keyboard is too flexible, but that's a matter of opinion. Mine has always been very sturdy, and I've swapped it out for a different keyboard as well.
So, there's really nothing horribly wrong with the Studio 15. I've been enjoying mine since the day I got it, and I hope you enjoy yours as well!
Also, anything is a step up from eMachines.
Out of curiosity, what are the specs on yours?
Quite Possibly the Worst Luck Ever
