Does anyone know the RPMs of the basic i9300 hard drives? I was under the impression they were 5400, but I think I read somewhere they were 4200. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
I'll get to this later.

They are supposed to be 5400RPM drives. There have been reports of people getting 4200RPM drives; I'm unsure whether or not you can send yours back if you get a 4200.

Their website still lists it at 4200, but all the hdd were upgraded to 5400rpm sometime in May. If you ordered in the last couple of weeks, you should have a 5400 unless you got the 60 or 80gig 7200rpm.

lol, yeah, dell needs to update their site badly. All of the specs say 4200, but I know they went to 5400 sometime in May. Like lowlymarine said, there has been a few complaints of people getting the 4200, so make sure and verify that you do have the 5400. You should have the 5400 since yours has been recently ordered, but if its not, call Dell and see if you can exchange it.

either remove it and look at what it say on the caseing or go to device manager and google whatever it tells you.

If you go to your device manager, you'll see your hdd under disk drives (be several letters/numbers). The easiest and quickest way is just to google whatever is listed in Device Manager.
