Basically, I wanted to know if the RPM's on the 60 and 80 gigabyte drives were 4200 or 5400?
Also, the WSXGA format is around 1600x1200 native resolution, right?
-
It should be 5400, eventhough their website states 4200. They did have the 7200 60gig and I believe they were offering a 7200 80gig also on their website. If you want the 7200, you'll probably have to call Dell and request it.

Thanks for the reply, I just wanted to make sure it was atleast 5400 rpm.
Mind if I ask you if the specs seem alright for the price (as posted above)?
I'm entering my second year of college so that's why I went with the 15.4 screen of the 6000. I do light gaming (warcraft 3 and counter-strike at the most) and want to be able to watch dvd's, do photoshop work, etc.
Also, any upgrades I'm missing that I should look at?
*edit* Also, will the RAM that comes with the system be 400 or 533? I planned on just getting another 512 stick on newegg as it's much cheaper and was just wondering. -
i think that it's a lot...i gota 9300 wit a lot better specs than that...for onli a lil bit more...and a 2 yr. warranty...for a total of $1400 w/o tax...and like $1508 wit tax...since i live in NY
Edit: all dell's hard drives that say 4200 RPM are all 5400 RPM hard drives..and im gonna upgrade my RAM later -
Its a pretty good system, but a little expensive for the 6000. If the 1.86 is above $100, I would go back to the 1.6 or 1.73. I'm not sure what there options are right now since they have been changing everything.
Have you thought about one of the latitude like D610? Its similar to the 6000, but it is built better. For college and if you are wanting a dell, either go with the 6000 or one of the latitudes. The 9300 is a huge monster to carry around campus. I found that out the hard way. -
