    "Raindrop" noise?

    That's the best word that I can use to describe this random noise coming from my laptop. It's not a WAV file or anything like that, it is coming from the hardware... I know what the hard drive sounds like and this is not it. It sounds like something activating, but I can't figure out what. The fan is constantly running (by choice), so I'm pretty sure it's not a fan startup noise... Anyone else ever hear this noise?

    ... am I insane?

    Could it be your hard drive? Look at the hard drive light and see if the noice occurs concurrently.

    Nope, not related to the HDD, as stated above.
