I am going to purchase one of these babies.
Since 256MB ram is not sufficient, i plan to upgrade the ram when purchase or after purchase.

    I have a few questions.
    1. For 512MB ram, is it better to have it ran with dual channel (2x256MB) instad of (1x512MB).
    2. It seems many use 512MB / 1GB, instead of 768MB. Is it no good to have one channel w/ 512MB and another one w/ 256MB, making it unparallel.
    3. Is there any ram incompatible with the one provided by Dell? What brand does Dell offer?

    Thank You.

The dual channel will offer a modest performance increase, but the sticks need to be the same. It will work if they are not the same just not quite as fast. Just get the same type of memory already in there and you'll be fine.

I am currently running 256mb on my I6000. My 512mb stick is comming tomorrow. I'm sure running 768 will be no problem. You won't notice dual channel unless you are always benchmarking or doing something that requires a lot of ram at once. 256mb is really not enough ram, my computer is very slow.
