    Thinking of upgrading the ram in my laptop from 512mb to a gig or more.
    Question is do I have to bye special from Dell or can I get somthing else ? and where do I go to see what my ram clock speed is with out opening the case...

    You can buy ram at any place. Just make sure the ram is DDR 533mhz. Many people buy ram from newegg.com or zipzoomfly.com, but any place will do.

    Thx for the reply but is the ram not ddr2 ? not sure but that number kinda sticks in my head..?

    yeah, its ddr2, as long as you get the 533mhz part down, ou're golden

    I found the packing slip that came with my computer and it says I have 400mhz ram pc3200 can I up it to 533?

    Thx for the info just dont want to order the wrong stuff u know how it is... The only 533mhz ram I found is pc4200 does this matter ?

    you want pc2 4200 200 pin. as long as you have those specs, you're ok
