    So here is the deal I bought this laptop from another person who was the original owner and today a pop up window appeared saying that my battery has a had a permanent failure and needs to be replaced. This laptop is in mint condition so it is clearly a battery hardware failure. Here is my computer's warranty information from Dell's website below.

    Warranty Information

    Country:
    United States

    Ship Date:
    4/6/2012

    Services Provider Start Date End Date Days Remaining
    Rapid Response Depot CTS 4/6/2012 4/6/2013 291
    XPS Technical Support DELL 4/6/2012 4/6/2013 291

    Firstly does Rapid Response Depot warranty cover faulty batteries? If so would they honor the warranty to a third party (Second Owner)?

    Thanks for your help!

    syztemaddict,

    Depot warranty is only for factory replaceable components;
    hence, components like battery are not looked at when it is at the depot. I would suggest contacting tech support as they would be able to you more direction on the replacement.

    Also, have you transferred ownership to your name?

    Let me know if you have any questions.
