Hey guys, so I'm most likely going to buy an m1530 pretty soon, before the 12th of May so I can take advantage of the 25% off coupon. I'm heading to college next year and so I'll need a laptop for my gaming/school work. Some of the games I plan on playing with the laptop are WoW, COD 4, Starcraft 2 on release. With all things considered, please rate whether this laptop will suit my needs.

    Midnight Blue
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T9300 (2.5GHz/800Mhz FSB, 6MB Cache)
3GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz (2 Dimms)
Glossy, widescreen 15.4 inch LCD (1280x800) & 2.0 MP Camera
    256MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GT
Size: 160GB 5400rpm SATA Hard Drive
85 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery

The total comes to $1,356.77 after shipping/tax and the 25% off coupon.

Not to bad. Only downside I see is the screen and small and slow hard drive...but if you are not going to be doing anything to demanding it'll be fine.

I also think you might be happier with a LED screen.

    What is your budget?

I would drop the ram down 1 gig and then buy a 4 gig kit from a deal off some place like Newegg. I have heard some crazy steals where people 4 GB for like 37 dollars or something. If you could find one like that you could get more RAM for less money.

I would then use that money toward upgrading the display. First choice would definitely be the LED screen, but I would at least want to go for the 1440x900 as it's a 15.4'' screen and I just don't know if 1280x800 would be that spacious in terms of desktop real estate.

I think it's also worth getting 90 more gigs of HDD space, but that's completely up to you.

    Everything else looks very good.

LED is HELLA bright, color is AWESOME, you should of stayed with a 6 cell because 9 cells are ugly and you should of gotten at least a bigger HD

No - you can get the RAM dropped to 1gb if you can somehow convince the rep that that's all you will need. The difference is significant too - something like 250 dollars (at least that was the price difference between 1gb and 3gb when I ordered back in Jan.)
