    Hey everyone

:( :( I currently own a Dell Inspiron 700m that has a few problems. For instance, the speakers don't work anymore and I can only hear sound when I use headphones, the time settings won't ever stay in one time zone- craziness!-, my battery has basically lost all of its life (extended battery), and my powerchord broke inside of the slot where you plug it into the computer. What I mean by the last problem is that at the very tip of the chord, where u plug it in to the computer, there is a circular plastic casing and that part is stuck inside my computer now  Ridiculous! To add to my list of problems, I CAN'T PLAY ANY PC GAME ON IT :( So annoying. :( :(

  I was wondering, however, if there was any way to completely gut my computer and have all my problems fixed by putting in newer more powerful hardware? I want more memory space, more ram, a better graphics card, just basically everything I have in my computer is so outdated but I don't want to get rid of it bc I love its size, I love everything about it! I'm considering the Dell XPS m1210 but if I can gut my current computer and make it like the Dell XPS m1210 (meaning as powerful), then I would love to do this!

:p :p BTW, I'd have someone else gut the computer for me and install the necessary components. I am by no means capable of doing so :p :p

    :D :D :D Thanks for your help everyone!! :D :D :D

Doing something like that is basically impossible, because all the new parts were engineered to fit in a casing of a different design and size. Especially the motherboard and GPU, you can forget that one right now. The processor and the cooling solution are old enough and an old enough design that upgrades are impossible.

If you really want new computer parts, in this case it is much cheaper to actually buy a new computer. Either the M1210 or the upcoming M1330 would be your best choices. Especially the M1330 if you are concerned about gaming.

No one...that hardware is about three or four generations old now...you'll greatly benefit from the upgrade. You'll love all the new stuff that has come out!

The most powerful 12" notebook out there is the M1210...the 7400 is a medium-strength gamers card but it holds it own in many games. The M1330 is supposed to have the DX10 equivalent card, but if you don't want 13.3" the M1210 is probably your best bet.

oh sweet! So overall, for a small transportable laptop that has the best gaming features you would suggest the XPS m1330 versus the m1210??

i can't find the m1330 anywhere on the dell page.... any advice on where i can buy it from? Oh, has it not been released yet?

The M1330 is not available yet and there is not exact date for release.

The M1210 is available now and is priced to sell...

If you want a 12" get the M1210 if you can deal with 13" and want to wait and pay more money then get the M1330.
