    Re-partition drive

    Hi,I have a Studio 1569 with a 500gb but most of the drive is set up on D and only about 58gb on C.Is there a way to change this without re formatting the drive? Please help

    It all depends on what OS you have.....If you have Vista or Windows 7 then there is a partitioning tool built in. Click the Windows button then type partition in the search field. Follow the instructions there.

    If you have XP there are a number of free partitioning tools available on the web. Search Google and you should find a number of results that will do non destructive partition creation.

    You could try doing the following:

    1. Goto Disk Management
    Open Run(Start+R) >> type "diskmgmt.msc"

    2. Right click on the drive which you want to shrink and select "Shrink Volume"

    3. Then you can repartition drives.


    You can get better results if the drives are defragged properly using Windows Defragmentation tool or using Piriform's Defraggler.
