My sister is ready to buy my current Dell off me so I can purchase a M1330 from the dell outlet. I have really enjoyed my 1520, but I want the portability and HDMI port of the M1330; I'm hoping it will make me happier then my previous Dells. Im looking to spend no more then $950 when all is said and done, so Ive been looking at the bottom end of the inventory. I hope to match my current sig keeping in mind the M1300 limitations.

My first question is concerning the screen. From what I've heard, the LEDs are very bright and desirable. Are the LEDs worth the extra money over the LCDs? Also, are there any LCD problems like there are with some other Dells?

Second question is about the HDs. My currently 1520 has a 7200rpm drive which Id like to keep, but most of the M1330s dont offer that rpm for my price range. Is it possible to swap hds from a M1330 to a 1520 and vice versa ( I will reformat both pcs btw) ?

Lastly, what are you experiences with buying refurbished XPS laptops from Dell. Ive heard more good stories then bad, what are you experiences?

I have the CCFL screen on my m1330 and I have no complaints at all. IMO my CCFL screen was even better than an LED version I saw at a Dell kiosk on one of the m1330s they had there.

You won't notice any huge speed increases/decreases going between a 7200 and 5400 rpm drive. The only time you'll really see it is if you break out a benchmarking app and look at real number.

I ghosted my old 5400 drive on to a new 7200 drive and I can't really say I noticed any real speed increases.

You can swap HD's assuming they're both the same format (SATA or IDE).
