Does ReadyBoost really work? I have 3GB memory now... can I use that instead of going to 4GB of memory? Is there even a benifit to ReadyBoost if I have 3GB memory? If so are there settings to use in order to make it work? When I ran the Mark tests I didn't see any change in scores.

I tried it with a USB drive and a flash card and I thought that it actually slowed the system down. I quit using it.
I would think that it would only benefit a system without sufficient onboard RAM installed. I would think that RAM would always be faster than using another drive.
I did see a improvment by reducing the page file size down to force the system to use RAM instead of the hard drive. -
you'll almost need a stop watch to tell the diff (imo), esp w/ vista
oh, and my xps 1530 was just now delivered -
Nah, even with 2GB of RAM readyboost effects are minimal. Besides, RAM is dirt cheap these days so getting an extra 2GB stick is really inexpensive.
