Many have experienced major revisions in anticipated delivery dates, particularly concerning the M1330. Screen glass shortage has been sited as the main culprit behind the delays, but my sense is there may indeed be a quality control issue behind it- something Dell has been working on behind the scenes. Apparently there's a problem with the BT enabled configs and Dell may be working to solve the problem which affects orders currently in the pipeline.

If it were purely a situation of component shortage (ie screens), some of those who placed orders very early after launch would have shipped already and I haven't heard this to be the case. Me thinks Dell is working on the BT issue and is trying to save face on the outside at the same time. Might be a better approach to instead provide a more accurate understanding of what's driving the delays to it's front line Sales and support staff so at least consumers will know they are working in good faith in an effort to avoid a quality control problem.

Aforementioned is conjecture and should not be taken as fact, but a 'read' from someone who has work experience in a similar environment.

Well, whatever the reason, it ain't going to make the lappys arrive any sooner. And if it is a quality control issue, i'm glad their taking their time to solve it properly instead of sending out boxed crap.

The BT issue is just a software glitch, on their canadian site, afaik. Besides, quite a few have shipped, including mine.

Someone in the last two-days or so (probably on NBR) posted something about motherboard needing a revision to fix a Bluetooth problem and how production had been halted as a result. I think this could be true and it would presumably be a separate issue to the Canadian Bluetooth SKU problem.

My EDD changed from 26th Jul to 25th July on the 18th July and I suspected that indicated they were really starting the build (as opposed to it sitting in a queue of machines to be built). Now that date is looking very doubtful to me as I have no further status updates to report.
