I'm considering purchasing a XPS 1330 with the LED backlit LCD, but one of the most important issues for me with this purchase is the battery times.

What can I expect with the 6 and 9 cell batteries while doing general office activities and web surfing?

Please sound off what your results have been.

BTW, I would spec it with a 200 gig 7200 RPM drive, discrete graphics, and 2 gig of ram.

I did, but I didn't like what I found. Thought there might be more meaningful CURRENT info available.

I usually use AC power. However, today, while using a 6-cell battery, I got (BIOS A06, BTW) a solid two hours with my LED on almost-full bright on "balanced" power mode, and I burned a CD during that time, while using a BT mouse and Wi-Fi the entire two hours.

Edit: That's with a 7200 RPM Drive, Aero on and an 8400GS.

Meaning, based on my experience, I'd expect a minimum of 2 hours battery life, probably more unless you're watching a DVD on max brightness with WI-FI/ BT/ everything on.

Also, with LOTS of power conservation I eked out 5+. It's amazing what you can do when you forget your AC adapter!
