I received an email yesterday from dell regarding my order which I didn't read until this morning. It said that my order is delayed to August 28th because of this:

This delay is due to the shortage of the part 'Bezel,Plastic,Liquid Crystal
    Display,Red,Corsica/sapporo'.

Anybody know that means? I see LCD, but what's that other info? Does it ahve to do with the plastic of the notebook?

I can't offer advice as to what that means, but I can offer some insight as to the delay. This is according to the Direct2Dell blog yesterday, and is in regards to the red 1330s, but I would assume it applies to us too. The red lids have to receive more coats of paint then other colors, and this allows more time in which the covers can be ruined by dust while they're wet. Dell has been unhappy with the quality of red lids received, and has delayed orders until they can receive lids which are at a quality that can be shipped. I'll try and find the link to the blog later.

08/08/2007 04:07:04PM Agent (Harvinder Kaur): "It is the color of the cover that is causing the delay."
08/08/2007 04:07:21PM Agent (Harvinder Kaur): "We are facing the global delay for this item."

I ordered my system with the black cover. I believe it doesn't matter what color
you choose your bezel to be there is still going to be a delay.

I just got off an online chat session concerning the status of my ruby red 1520 with an esd of 8/10. According to the agent I was chatting to there are
no backordered parts for my laptop. See below:

Should I believe Silvi and trust that my 1520 will ship on schedule???

On Aug 6 I got an email stating that my order was is the final stages of production. I presume that means it's getting close to shipping. But who knows what that means in Dell speak
