I recently purchased a Vostro 1500 from DeLL's Outlet Store. After a couple weeks I started having some problems:

    1) Bad DVD drive making a grinding noise. (DeLL shipped part overnight fixed problem).
    2) Certain Keys were noisy.
    3) AC adapter inexplicably quit working.
    4) Cosmetic blemishes began to appear.

So I called and they said no problem we'll take it back. While on the phone the CSR emailed me a UPS return label. He said he would follow up with a phone call when it was in transit. I sent it out today and got a call from DeLL stating the laptop is in transit and as soon as they receive it they will process my credit request.

I think that is real good customer service and follow up. So far my experience with DeLL has been outstanding and i've purchased about 4 laptops from them in the last year and a half. I know others have had their share of problems and others have not.

I'm just writing to give kudos to DeLL as it's well deserved. :D

Maybe Michael Dell is steering the company in the right direction again.

Yep, DELL does have terrific support. My AC adaptor all of a sudden died one day, and I got a new one the next day. Too bad the new one didn't have the right plug, but I really appreciate the effort. :)

I've had nothing but great experiences with Dell. I'm waiting to see the new Latitude E series when they come out (trying to get my manager to purchase one for me at work to replace the D620 that I use from time to time)

They have good service after you get the product....

Does the warranty apply for your laptop while traveling overseas?

Yes, unless you're illegally selling it overseas, in which case, no.

As we have discussed a few times in the past--the only warranty level supported overseas is the '3 year NBD'. You can't just say the warranty is provided overseas. No, it is not unless the above applies.

Should I get the complete care even though I upgraded cpu, ram, and HD? will they cover it still?

If you upgraded the CPU yourself, you have voided the entire warranty, my friend.

Any particular reason(s) why you typed Dell like DeLL? With the lowercase e? lol, I've just always wondered why powerpack did that too.

Ha ha. Don't be hatin' on Dell now, mattocs. I mean, they "prioritized" your order and all. Really. I'm positive they did.
