i own an inspiron 5150 that had an unfortunate accident only months after purchase. a friend spilled water on it and fried the mobo and vid card. i got it in 2004 as a graduation gift and am just now getting to fixing it. since it is out of warranty i am ebaying the parts to fix. i found http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=230188004127&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=013 to purchase the mobo and it also comes with the vid card as well as many other pieces of the puzzle. i am wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade to this http://cgi.ebay.com/Inspiron-5150-5...ryZ74957QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
    from this http://cgi.ebay.com/Dell-Inspiron-5...ryZ74957QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

also going to be maxing out mem and dropping in a much better/bigger hd.

It would depend on what you spent for it. I might just want to opt for a new machine from Dell Outlet. It would depend on your budget too.

budget is near nothing lol. at the very least i want to just do the mobo and vid card deal in the first link just so i can actually use the darn thing. later on i would do the mem and hd upgrade. i'm not so set on dell but the one's i would build if i had the cash would cost me over 1300 bucks.

the 32mb vid card is 20-30 bucks
the 64mb card is between 50-100

how much of a gain would be expected and would it be worth the price difference
