FYI... I haven't seen any reviews or notices... Dell is shipping the Latitude ATG D630 in the US. I have one.

The screen is beautiful, the build quality is great, Vista Ultimate is cooperating beautifully with a rather complex network. Dell shipped it a week before they said they would. I couldn't be more satisfied.

    Here's the setup
    Dell Latitude ATG D630
    Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 2.2 GHz
    Windows Vista Ultimate
    Intel integrated graphics X3100
    14.1" 500 nit LCD screen
    2.0 GB DDR2-667 RAM, 2 DIMMS
120 GB, 7200 RPM Hard Drive
    8X DVD+/- RW
    Intel 4965 802.11 a/g/n wireless
    6 cell battery
    D/Port advanced port replicator
4 year warranty w/gold tech support

I dont' remember the exact cost, but it was roughly $2600.

Congrats on getting it so fast... I'm still waiting for mine...

Seems pretty pricey setup to me... Seeing as you still have integrated video even :O! I paid around $1400 for my configuration...

That looks like a very solid setup. At 500 nits, i'm very curious what that display looks like out in the sunshine.

    Enjoy the notebook.

I don't think there's many good reasons to spend that much cash and still get integrated video. What do you need so much power for that isn't a game?

FYI, it's a business machine used at an engineering firm. We do a lot of work outside. It has to be a powerful machine today, but it also has to be a powerful machine 3-4 years from now.

As I recall, integrated graphics was the only option from Dell. Not that it matters. The X3100 integrated graphics is fine for this use.

I haven't seen the screen outdoors, but I did see it hooked up to a 19" Dell 1905FP monitor and the ATG was much more bright. That's something, because I've never thought of the 1905FP as dim. I work on one all day.

Your reference to the 1905FP for brightness was perfect - that's the same monitor I use at work as well.
