Well I ordered a Vostro 1500 off the Dell outlet website. I am Very pleased with it. It looks brand new, well except for the big red "refurbished" sticker on the bottom.

    Here are my specs

    T7300 Processor
    1 gig ram 667 mhz
    120 Gb hard drive (5400rpm)
    WXGA+ Screen (its a LG)
    8400 GS Video card
    Windows XP
    DVD R/RW Drive
    Camera
    Bluetooth
    6 Cell batt. (wobbly)
Dell Wireless Card (the basic one, Ill probably change it out for the Intel 3945)
    NO BLOATWARE!!!!!

I think thats all of it....

I am using it for college. I am an engineering student, so if there is anyone here looking for a new Laptop, I recommend this one, even the specs (the video card is even good for CAD apps, unless you are doing massive assemblies then you might want to get the 8600 GT card or consder a laptop with the Quadro Video card)! I plan to put some more RAM in it, as I will probably just put a 2 GB stick in the bottom port and leave the 512mb card under the keyboard alone. So Ill have 2.5 GB Ram.

Hows the weight and battery life? People tend to report different battery longevity.....

And what does a beefy engineering student think about the weight of the beast carried around campus? As opposed to these whiny computer science dweebs :p

Well for battery life im getting around 3 hours. As far as the weight i dont know the exact but its not too bad.

Personally the laptop is just fine, weight really isn't much of an issue for me.
