Well I finally pulled the trigger and ordered an E1705 using the 35% of coupon I randomly received from Dell. I suppose I did ok with the "Dell Game" because the new coupons don't work with duo core notebooks. Anyways, I have a few questions.

    1. Although I don't plan on moving it that much, what backpack does anyone recommend for the E1705 considering its size and considering I will most likely have a bunch of books with me.

    2. I was originally going to get Personal Item Insurance through State Farm, but apparently they don't serve RI (where I live) or MA (where I am going to College). So, are there any other insurance companies that offer a similar service for a reasonable price or should I just add on complete care (can I do that even though it's already been ordered?) and hope it doesn't get stolen?

    3. Anything I should know or do before I receive the system? I have already downloaded all the drivers in preparation of a fresh install. Also, can I request the additional disks before it arrives? Anything else?

Thanks for all your help and great advice through the whole process. I can't wait until I get it!

I was told that to get the dell warranty after getting the item means it cost double, maybe you should cancel it then add it on. Correct me if I am wrong, I think you have to request them after you receive your system, if not their is no point in buying the cd :)

Dell just cancelled my order too. How long from initial order date till the time you recieved your notebook and laptop? I am at 21 days right now, and they are saying at least another week. I guess I should demand some compensation too?

2nd Question, did you ask for the backpack, or did they just send it?

I asked for some compensation and got the bag free after beeing put on hold for an hour while the rep tried to figure out why and how my order got cancelled. It was around 22 days for me from the date that i originally ordered. I called them up and yelled a lot and they said they put an urgency on my order... i dont know about you but 22 days isn't that urgent to me lol.

Well, I dell makes a backpack FOR 17 inch notebooks, but I haven't seen it in person. The only reason I suggest it is because I have a briefcase type bag from dell for my e1705 and its REALLY nice, so I would assume the quality should be about the same. Ha, so far its been the cats ass of notebook cases I have had. Check out the dell store.
