    Hi all,

my first post in NBR forum :)

I have just purchased an M1330 @ dell outlet uk and did a clean install of Vista Ultimate. As I have always built my machines, I was not aware of the hidden partition setup on branded computers.

Everything works fine, but my system has 118Mb of unallocated space and I cannot add to my main(single) partition - see screenshot

I have tried to extend the C: partition using diskpart but it does not work. Apparently the unallocated space needs to be in the right side of the partition in order to be swallowed by.

It is just a detail, but I would like to have everything under 1 single partition.

    Any ideas?????

*PS: I hope to contribute in the forum as it is a very good tech resource, specially for the M1330.

    Cheers

Hi, I'm having that problem also with an external hard drive disk, its highly annoying.

Does anyone know of vista compatible applications that can possibly shift a partition to the front of the drive, then creating unallocated space to the right of the partition, and allowing it to be 'extended into'?

I don't think Vista will allow you to change a partition if you're booted to Vista on the same partition you're trying to do the operation on. You might be able to change the partition size using something like gparted (on a bootable CD).
