    I recently got a Dell Precision M90 with a 17" WXGA+ screen.
It seems to suffer from a bit of light leakage from the bottom, and the viewing angle is very narrow. A solid color over the whole screen looks like a soft gradient even when viewed head on. I'm working with graphics, so a reasonably good color reproduction is important to me.

My previous laptop was a Precision M60 with a 15.4" WUXGA screen, which was much better than the one on my new M90. Btw, I chose to get a lower resolution screen for better readability, so obviously I'm commenting on overall quality here and not the resolution. Windows reports that the panel is a SEC 5857 (Samsung?).

So the question is: is this just a bad unit or are there other, better Dell 17" panels out there, so I can expect to get something resonably good if I try to get this one replaced? Any particular model that is regarded as the best? I searched the forum for a bit, but didn't find any clear recommendations.
