I just flashed the A11 Bios, thinking that "Thermal control enhancement" would mean less fan noise, but I was wrong. I was using A08 because it had what seemed to be the best temperature control: it would turn the fan on or off about every five minutes. A09 was dreadfully annoying, turning the fan on and off about every 30 seconds. A11 seems to run the fan pretty much constantly. This is all under very light usage. Can anyone recommend what you consider to be the best E1505 Bios for cool and quiet operation?
Thanks

The last thing you said is not right. With the newest super fast processors its is nog possible to run "cool and quiet".
I'm very happy with A11 because the laptop stays cooler now, also better for the hardware. When te fan turns on at 50C and off somewhere between 30-40C.
My T7200 produce a lot of heat (and a lot of power) so when my fan is running less (better for the sound) but not better for the processor. So i'm happy with the A11 (just my opinion)
This piece of tekst is not a real answer on you question...but an explantion the processors grows bigger and produce a lot of heat. -
I think I use A08. not sure. it's extremely quiet, and i never hear the fan go on except during gaming.

i have A11 and i have noticed quite a big difference in the heat produced, it seems a lot cooler

I installed A11. I don't know why or what effect it's having.
Nothing is on fire though. That's my litmus test.
if (laptop = onFire){
bios = failure;

I flashed A11 with no problems at all. Seems stable and machine is happy

I've had A11 for a couple days now. Peak temperatures in games are down. The fan rarely comes on if I'm just surfing the internet or doing other light tasks and when it does it just kicks on low where it's not even audible. Its never kicked on high in the month I've had it and usually only on medium in games. This is a T7200 and X1400 so it produces plenty of heat. Also, what happened to A10? They went from A09 to A11.
