Hi Everyeone,
I just ordered a Dell M1530 with only 1 gig of ram, with the plans of ordering more off of Newegg.com. I was hoping people could point me in the right direction to a recommended purchase for the memory. I don't want to spend the money on the ram only to find out it doesn't fit or doesn't work with the M1530.
Also, should I just buy a 2 gig, and plug it in, resulting in 3 gigs? Or should I purchase two 2 gigs, and use those resulting in 4 gigs of memory?
Thanks for your help.

Well, if you ordered 1GB, it was probably two DIMMs, or two separate sticks of memory with 512MB each.
I also just purchased an XPS M1530 with 1GB of RAM. On Newegg had a 2x2GB kit from OCZ for $90 shipped with a $20 mail-in rebate. It was DDR2-667, which is the type you need for it.
You won't be able to just plug in a 2GB stick because your computer only has two slots. You could have 2.5GB of RAM, though. My suggestion, though, is to either buy a 2x2GB kit or a 2x1GB kit from Newegg. Make sure it's DDR2-667, though. That's the kind you need. -
Thanks for the help. I found the one you ordered and I placed an order myself.
