I bought a Sony Vaio SZ730 that was on sale with a free iPod Touch, totaling $1600 (I bought desktop memory as well):

Along with that I got the 2 year ADH warranty for $169, but I'm unsure of my decision. I am looking back at the M1330 and I feel that the warranty of the Dell is better compared to Sonys.
I am only looking at Dell and Sony's offering at the moment, but of course I will consider any other options. I will use the laptop for internet, college work (pharmacy), movie watching, and small gaming, so I will stick with the X3100. It can see lots of travel. The 8400M GS was causing me some problems that I wasn't ready to cope with, so I returned my first M1330. I doubt that I will ever use the SZ730's graphics system.
I still have time to cancel my Newegg order since it's still in step one. I bought the SZ730 with 1GB of desktop memory and the warranty, totaling $1600. With my configuration of the M1330, I can get the following for $1573, coupon not added:
My Components
Tuxedo Black
Intel® Core 2 Duo T8300 (2.4GHz/800Mhz FSB/3MB cache)
Genuine Windows® Vista Home Premium Edition SP1
Slim and Light LED Display with VGA Webcam
2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
Speed: 160GB SATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) Free Fall Sensor
CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW Drive)
Intel® Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini-card
Built-in Bluetooth capability (2.0 EDR)
37Whr Lithium Ion Battery (4 cell) <-- yes, I am considering buying a 6-cell from eBay; or I can get the 4 cell + 9 cell
High Definition Audio 2.0
Biometric Fingerprint Reader
1 Year Warranty + 1 Year CompleteCare
I can upgrade the warranty to three years and hit $1.8k. What do you guys think? Could I renew both the warranty and CompCare when it expires?

I would say if you can afford the Sony, get the sony. Having the graphics card could later turn out to be helpful. Also what does complete care get you, does that include accident cover? And the sony comes with an ipod touch, from what I can tell the Sony is way better deal financially (it will also have a higher resell value).
Warranty wise, your support with most manufacturers comes down to luck, sometimes you get a good person done the other end of the phone sometimes not, its chance.
Conclusion: Get the Sony, note I'm biased cause I hate dells (to tacky for my liking). -
I cant in good faith tell anyone to get a laptop with intergrated graphics if they want a long lasting and futureproof system.

did you know that sony vaio don't include CDs for recovery disc?
when your system got corrupted you can't do anything unless you use pre installed recovery software....but worse is it also corrupted.
you got lots of 3rd party pre installed crap!.....
your paying for the name......not the product! goodluck
Recommended warranty for M1330? Unsure of my decision w/ Sony SZ730
