How does Dell send out the recovery CD's
Do you get an OEM copy of windows + drivers cd
    Just 1 big Recovery CD
or do you have to burn them yourself

If you ordered the CDs when you purchased your laptop, you will get a drivers cd as well as a windows OEM cd. There will also be the restore partition on your hard drive. If you ordered latitude/xps the media is automatically included. If you didn't order the CD-ROMs for an inspiron notebook, you'll have to call/use the chat feature to have them overnighted to you.

When I ordered my E1505 a couple weeks ago there was no option to include the recovery CDs. However when I opened the box I had recieved the Windows, Works, and Driver CDs. Are they starting to include them automatically like they should again?

I hope they do, since I would like to reload windows with just the vanilla version not with any bloatware they like to include

You'll have to request MediaDirect 3.0 if you want it, as wells as the Cyberlink dvd and Sonic/Roxio disc as well - they don't include those in the box. At least they will overnight the discs to you...

I'm a canadian customer and called in, they refuse to ship my mediadirect 3 cds although my system came preinstalled with it, Perhaps they have better service in the US? They will however ship MediaDirect 2

You do not need the reinstallation disc for MD 3.0 as long as you leave the MD partition alone. When you are formatting, it will clearly say "Media Direct Partition". Just leave it alone, and MD should still work when you are done formatting. With MD 3.0, you don't need to repair it either.
