    ok should i keep it?

    im so used to dekstops...

    and do i really need this?

    i plan on getting an external HD to back up my data...

    but i only know how to reformat XP (is it the same?)

    i didnt want to risk it ..but yeah i dont think i will need that recovery partition

    and is there a tutorial on this site that shows me how to reformat VISTA on a dell? so i can get a clean install

    Up to you. But before you delete the partition, make sure you make recovery cd's and/or make sure your recovery cd's are good, not coasters.

    well i dont wanna mess anything up...so maybe i'll leave it alone


    but how do i actually use that recovery section if something does go wrong?

    You press Ctrl+F11 when the PBR part starts before it goes to windows. It should spit out messages about PBRcheck and such then bring up a screen to start the recovery.

    does the recovery space hold a backup to all my stuff on my harddrive..software,pics,music,etc

    or just the OS and drivers?
