Is it really important to reformat new laptop?
I just got my Vostro 1500 with Windows XP SP2 installed and I saw some post here that they reformat their laptops right after they got it. Will it be the same if I use the Windows XP Backup CD that came from my laptop if I reformat it? If I plan to reformat better off use a different Windows XP Pro CD?
Please enlighten me

If you opted out of the bloatware on the 1500 there's probably no reason to reinstall.

I would say people format their laptops from the XP/Vista disk (if you're lucky enough to get one) to get rid of 'bloatware', all the free programs and games you get on new computers which are mainly crap. Otherwise you just have to uninstall anything you dont want

I formated my New Laptop for 2 Reason One to remove all craps put by Dell and 2nd to install a Fresh Version of Vista Ultimate on it

Option 2: to get all the extra bloat off my computer.
