Reformat problem with 700m

i just reformatted my dell700m and deleted the hidden partition but now i cant get some of the functions on my keyboard to work, can i dl the drivers of my keyboard somewhere? or what did i do wrong?

 

the hidden partion includes mirror of your original system and utilities. so that shouldn't have affected your keyboard. did you remove the keyboard to say install more RAM? if so, you might have not plugged in the flatwire cable back in properly. i would do things. first, i would go to device manager and uninstall the keyboard. reboot and see if that solves the problem. if not, then shut down the computer, unplug the power cable detach the battery wait a couple minutes and then remove the keyboard and reseat the keyboard cable. (go to dell support do a search typing in 700m service manual. this gives you detailed pictures on how to take the keyboard off). if you are uncomfortable, then don't do it. the last thing i'd say is to go back make sure you repartioned (i presume you did this after you deleted the hidden partition) and reformatted the hard drive. then reinstall the OS. there isn't a speparate driver for the keyboard as far as i can see on dell's website. lastly, call dell and get a replacement keyboard.

 

functions like what - is this normal keys or the special buttons up the top that you hardly ever use...
