Just bought a loaded M90 Precision form the Outlet. The only bell and whistle it did not have the higher resolution screen.

Now I am not a big laptop guy, I dod not know if having the cheaper screen is my problem or not. Around the bottom edge of the screen is really washed out, you can barely see the blue windows toolbar along the bottom. And if you have something minimized you can barely read it. In excel you can barely see the grid lines on the lower half of the page.

Tryed a DVD in it and it looks good, the colors are a little washed out, just not real sharp. But I bought it for 3d stuff, Inventor et, not movies.

The one thing that really worries me is when I walked outside to see it (cloudy day) all I see is a veryblack screen.

I am used to Drafting and doing spreadsheets on a very nice LCD screen. What I am asking is this normal, are laptop screens just different.? DO I have a bad screen? If so do I have to send it back? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's called lightbleed, and some have it worse than others. You seem to have it pretty badly, but I am not sure about your ability to return it. What sort of warranty does it have? You can try to call up Dell and complain about the screen, and if you still have a warranty they might replace it for you.

Call the support, ask for a replacement screen.
