    Regretting on buying the extra 9-cell battery for my 1400. Finding a 6-cell?

    I should've just gotten an extra 6-cell one, since that extra weight makes it feel....strange.

    I bought this back in August so yeah :(

    Options? I mean if someone is willing to trade their 6-cell for my 9-cell I'd be super happy :D

    Considering for the 1400, they're both 60 bucks when you buy it with the system...but it's like 130 for 6 cell from Dell and 170 bucks for the 9-cell, otherwise it's like 80 bucks elsewhere...I could always sell the 9-cell but where would be a good place to find the 6-cell battery? I see a bunch of places on Google but I don't know which is reputable. Much appreciated if anyone can help. (I'm mostly wary especially due to that one company selling fake Lenovo/IBM batteries and exploded D:, I know it's a low chance but if I'm paying 80 bucks for something, it'd better be legit :))

    For the very same reasons, I got one of each when I placed my order in August. The batteries are always expensive afterward. Last time I ask my friend to add a battery to his order for my previous laptop.

    be careful with ebay. what Vespoli isnt telling you is that some of those batteries sold are not made by dell and are actually dangerous. Ive heard of them exploding and even burning people.

    id consider trading my 6 cell for the 9 cell, but if its been used since august then it probably has already a significant level of wear. :(

    Dell's batteries were made by Sony...and that was the whole big issue. Sony's huge battery recalls last year.

    no i heard something about people selling not genuine batteries that look identical like dells but arent on ebay... and end up being bad. i know about the sony problem, that was a while ago.

    Not all. But Dell did use Sony batteries back then (as did the entire industry) and that was the big problem with exploding batteries last year.

    Maybe some of the people who I recommended Dells could order me one on their forums. I'll trade my 9-cell for it :D
