The boot seems to be a lot slower than when I got it. Any ideas what would cause this on a clean install vs. the dell initial install?
Oh, and I aploigize if thats vague, let me know of anything I can tell you all that would help out!

SaferSephiroth The calamity from within
Seems isn't good enough to tell for sure, should have gotten some benchmarks before you reformatted.
Anyways, i suggest you go to the notebooks for dummies section and look for how to optimize your laptop. You might be able to disable several windows services that are slowing your computer down. -
Download drivers. Also do what Sephiroth says.

I've already done all the optimizing, but thanks
The rest runs fine, I just feel like 10seconds was added to the boot process. When I installed windows...should I have loaded some kind of SATA driver, or did that happen automatically since I used the Dell CD?
But I assume forgetting that driver would really hinder the computer, even when not booting, and the rest seems fast...
EDIT: Nevermind, I see the S ATA driver under my devices. Phew. -
Go to Start -> Run, then type 'services.msc'.
All those items with 'Automatic' listed next to their names are booting with Windows. Click on the items to find out just what they do. If you decide you don't need a certain service, you can simply right-click on it and change it's properties from 'Automatic' to 'Manual'. -
turning off your services won't really adjust your boot time. If you haven't already, you need to turn off any programs that you don't want in MSCONFIG. Anytime you install software, it generally default set to start at boot up.
Reinstalled my 1210...now it's slower?
