i want to do a complete wipe and reinstall of windows on my laptop just to make sure no virus/spyware remain. ive done this on a normal pc but ive never done it on a laptop. is it the same procedure? just disk wipe and start installing fresh with the Dell DVD they provided, is there anything i should know?

also im assuming all relevant dell drivers and programs are on the cd as well?

    cheers

Have a look at the the Dell Vista Laptop Reformat and Bloatware Removal Guide.

It`s a sticky thread at the top of the list of threads... Kind of hard to miss.

Yes, it is very similar to doing it for a desktop. The one significant difference is with mediadirect, which is Dell's separate OS meant for playing media files on your laptop without having to boot windows. An additional step needs to be done to ensure you retain mediadirect functionality(if you want it) after a reformat.

You can follow this guide to help you out. Please do post any questions you may have during the process.
