Hi all. My Brother bought Dell Inspiron 1525 that has
3Gb ram 250GB Hdd and T5800 cpu.It came with Vista
Home basic sp1 installed and the Vista reinstallation DVD.

The first partition has 240GB and the 2ed 10 which is recovery.I want to format and repartition so it will have 2 partition 120 each.

Can make a clean installatioon from that DVD?
Do i need the recovery partition or can i delete it?

Any other tips on how to install on a notebook will be welcomed since this is my first one.

You can install Windows Vista Basic and overwrite the Recovery partition; it is not necessary. You can definitely make a clean installation from that DVD and during the installation process, you can partition the drive into two portions if you want. Just make two partitions of 120 GB. I think this is what you're asking. If not, post back and I'm sure either me or some other member who is more knowledgable will get back to you.

It should be the same on a Dell as on any other computer. If you use a Dell OEM disk, you won't have to activate the installation either.
