This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Reinvigorate Inspiron 8000..

    I inherited a Dell 8000 with Pentium III 900mhz, 512 mb ram. Is there a way to install a faster processor, a different motherboard if necessary so I could use this with some stop motion animation software that requires 1.8 ghz of processing speed. I am not a technical whiz but fairly capable.
