Hi, im from Australia and ive got a Dell XPS M1210 (specs in sig). Im looking for a remote control for the MediaDirect function, the reason i use it is not coz its really good but it does the job and i dont have to boot into windows for playing videos while connected to TV (thus not having the trouble of the resolution change messing up my icons in windows and etc), the remotes Dell sells for their newer notebooks aint available in Aus (that i kno of), an ideal product is the Interlink VP6600 but i cant find this anywhere, the alternatives so far are:

MS Media Center remote (heard it works in MD, not confirmed)
Rock Vista remote (looks good, have no idea if works in MD)

Can anyone else confirm compatibility for the remotes? Ive got a Logitech MediaPlay mouse that can be used as a remote but its SetPoint drivers are completely useless in MD, i suspect issues like this exist in some remotes but not sure...

I did a little digging here at Dell, and believe I can answer your question.

From my understanding, any remote that works in Media Center will work in Media direct by design. The MS Media Center remote definitely works in MD, and the Vista remote will work in MD as well.

If you have any questions, let me know.
