Just purchased my first Dell laptop (M1330) and I'm really pleased with it, however I have one question.

Should I remove my battery (if its fully charged, got the 9 cell) when AC is connected and thereby increase battery life? Or is this just nonsense?

The thread title sounds like you are removing the battery while the AC adapter is plugged in. Just curious, will it harm the laptop?

Removing the battery will not harm the laptop.
On the other hand, leaving it plugged in wont harm it either.

When the battery is fully charged and the AC is still connected, it auto cuts off - it wont keep charging for ever, or incur any damage. I always use my M1730 from AC Power, but never remove the battery either - it acts as a UPS as well. If you run on AC and have a spike or power loss for a second, with the battery in at least you dont harm the laptop HDD etc, since the battery will keep supplying power. By removing the battery the system is more vulnerable.
