    Hey Guys

So Dell has taken up two partitions.

    1) around 10GB for the factory image

    2) around 200MB for something else which I dont know...

    I have another windows partition

so that makes 3 primary partitions.

But now I wanna install linux , but I don't want to loose the factory image ( so that i can do a manual restore later on )

Now I cannot create another primary partition to install..

what can you suggest.. can I delete any of the above partition or move them to some folder in C: and still work with them.. what can be suggested for dual OS on Dell..

Sadly Dell and HP very often has some very special hidden files.
So you cannot just move files from one place to another.
this two sections (10 GB and 200 mb) are full with s...
I suggest you do to clear install of Vista and you will be much better.

Another thing is to use some partition software like Acronis...
But overall I use clear Vista Installation and compared to my old HP 6730s with same s like you describe...
and difference is like moon and sun

I have a clear vista installation.. But I just want to keep the image just in case.. as dell does not provide another factory image..

so i was wondering what is in the 200MB and is it OK to delete it??

The 200MB partition is probably the MediaDirect partition. Unless you use it, you can go ahead and erase it. I did the day I received my 1535.
