I just got my XPS and i am already annoyed at those uggly win xp and centrino stickers. But they seem quite sturdy. Is there an easy way to remove them?

a blade (x-acto knife, swiss army, razor, etc.) just under the corner, careful not to scratch the computer, lift, once it's up a little bit, grab it with a pair or pliers or something. you can get the gunk off afterwards

    Thanks for the replies.

I suppose i can get the goo off someway, but i didn't have much luck getting the stickers of at all, it just seemed like i scratched the surface. I suppose the stickers will become more loose as time goes by.

Might want to be careful using that, it might could possible remove the paint off of the laptop too. I just rubbed the goo off with my thumb/finger nails... took me a good five minutes but it worked.

Beware of alcohol on the e1505’s silver plastic areas; it will erode the glossy finish on them. I discovered it the hard way after removing the stickers!

heat it up with a hairdryer. A few quick bursts shoud soften the glue up.

I think there's a way for you to have them not slap the sticker on in the first place. The E1705 that I got my neighbor came without it because she had called them up asking what the Processor Label was. So she told them to note not to slap any stickers intel inside or other wise ;)

This would be like buying GTO without the emblem on the side of the car! I want to know that I got a dual core- but I did not get my sticker! I got the intel centrino sticker.

Use your hair dryer on it, nothing is stickier than the graphics on my dirt bike and I use a hair dryer all the time when I want to change them. Just warm it up with the hair dryer and stickers will come right off. Works for unwanted bumber stickers on cars as well.

After going at it with my nails from time to time it finaly worked. And the stuff that was left was easy to just peel away.

NOOOO do't do that! On my old hp I used polish remover and it sorta bleached my computer. It left it "whiter" in the areas I put it on. It is hard to explain what it did, but it definitly made it worse.

Don't go with knife or anything like alcohol. You'll scratch it or remove some paint!! i don't know if the hair dryen works but it's looks like the safer way.

I'm not taking mine off. The centrino duo might help me get rid of the lappy if i ever need to. You know how people are with the "centrino" marketing ploy

See the other thread on this. Evidently those of us that went for the gusto and got wireless and bluetooth got the downgraded Centrino logo. Just figure
