Well I got a replacement battery today, and its still is very loose. After hearing the new systems don't suffer from this, I want to re-order it.

    Questions though.

First off - I had $50 credit due on the system for slow shipping - will this credit still apply to the new system?

Also, I want to change the specs. I noticed the e-value code for one with a 8400GS and a DVD burner for like $60 more, Can I change options?

Third and final question. When I called about the battery, they said they would ship out another one. There was no mention about returning the original though when I spoke. Do I need to return the other battery with it? If not, they only listed it as $42 which is the upgrade cost... so it almost makes sense to keep it and order the 6 cell, eBay the 6 cell and end up with the 9 cell for only $10 or so

What good is re-ordering a new system going to do? Are you talking about just getting a replacement? If so, that is not a 100% chance to fix the battery issue. If a loose battery is the only problem, keep the system you have.

Did you give out any credit carm ifnromation to get the new battery? If not, probably safe to keep both batteries.

It's understandable if you don't want a piece of paper stuck between your battery and notebook, but if you arent that picky this is a great solution and will save you a lot of trouble.
But seeing how you could get a better system reordering might also be a soultion.

No credit card info given. They called to see if i got the system, and I complained.

I really would like to spend the $60 more for the 8400gs and the dvd burner. To me, its worth it.

With the WXGA+ its 640+tax - less the $50 coupon, so about 620 or so.

I had to put 12 (yes twelve) layers of electrical tape for it to stop moving.

Alright, you first post was not clear. Just return what you have for a refund and order up another one.

And 12 layers of tape!

    Yes, i think so.
The credit is processed irrespective of whether or not you return your system.

I like the electrical tape idea (although 12 layers sounds excessive)
Be easier to swap batteries than the standard piece of paper wedged.
    Kudos !
