I am now on my 3rd LCD for my Inspiron. The first one had the vertical line issue and the second one flickered on and off for a while until finally it became white all the time (this was was free from Dell since the first was a recall). I decided to skip Dell completely since I am not impressed at all with their customer service. I have since purchased 2 LCDs, neither of which are working--even though they're supposedly compatible with my laptop. When the first of the two replacement LCDs I bought wouldn't turn on or have any indication of power getting to it, I bought a used LCD that was taken directly from an Inspiron 9300. I installed it and found that it was not working either. I tried replacing the flex cable and inverter but I am not having any luck.
Maybe "not working" isn't quite the best way to describe it. When turning my laptop on after installation, sometimes (about 10% of the time) the backlight comes on but never can I see images. I've also noticed that whenever I turn the laptop on without an external monitor plugged in, I receive a blue screen with a type of error. When I unplug the LCD and use only the external monitor, I am able to log in fine and then receive a notification that there was a serious error with Windows but it was fixed.
Can anyone please offer me any installation guidance?
