I just ordered an I9300 w/ the WUXGA (1920x1200) Truelife display. I was wondering if it's possible to install the WXGA (1440x900) display from my I9200 onto it. The reason is because I'll be using the I9300 to play games and I'd like the lower native resolutions for higher FPS. Are they interchangeable? What steps do I need to do to install it? Thanks in advance.

I9200 has the 128MB ATI Mobility Radeon 9700. The I9300 has the 256MB Nvidia 6800 Go.

I got it from Dell Outlet so I couldn't change it. It's one of those refurbished ones that come w/ the 6800 Geforce go.

In my opinion, i wouldn't go down to the matte on the 9300. I had it for year, and hated every moment of it.

The 9200/9300 do have similar set up, so it could be possible to do the change as far as physical aspects (you shouldn't have to remove the bezel or anything like that - just pull out the WUXGA+ display, and plugin the XGA+ display).

My concern is the hardware compatiability. I'm not sure if the 9200 screen would be compatible with the 9300 hardware, but when I was looking for a new screen on my laptop, i did come across some screens that supposedly worked with the 9300 - but weren't the ones that were offered by dell.

I was wondering if the 9200 would support it. What's the worse that could happen if it didn't work? Would I end up w/ a messed up LCD?
